UFC Star Diaz Avoids Trouble for Squabble with Nightclub Security
Despite the clear escalation of violence, the squabble never turned into an all-out fight, with Diaz demonstrating what his attorney called “great restraint”

American mixed martial artist fighter Nate Diaz will reportedly suffer no charges for a squabble with a Las Vegas security guard. However, the former UFC fighter agreed to complete an online impulse control class.
Diaz Got into Trouble with a Security Officer
The incident in question dates from a year ago when Diaz was trying to get inside the Omnia nightclub at Caesars Palace in Sin City. A video from the incident shows tension escalating between him and a security officer at the club.

Despite the clear escalation of violence, the squabble never turned into an all-out fight, with Diaz demonstrating what his attorneys called “great restraint.” The defense argued that, instead of throwing a punch, the former UFC fighter pushed his opponent back to create space between the two and potentially avoid a more serious conflict.
Diaz’s attorney, Ross Goodman, did not deny that the incident took place but, as mentioned, highlighted the fighter’s restraint. The attorney insisted that there was context missing from the original video and that Diaz was only defending himself against an aggressive security officer.
In an interview with media giant ESPN, Goodman said:
It appears that one security guard sought a confrontation by repeatedly pushing and getting in Nate’s face. In the face of an overaggressive security guard, Nate showed great restraint and poise in trying to de-escalate the altercation.

Diaz Completed an Impulse Control Program
Goodman also spoke with news outlet TMZ, telling journalists that the battery charge was dismissed shortly after Diaz completed an impulse control class.
Goodman reiterated that Diaz was only defending himself. The prosecution and Diaz himself have yet to comment on the matter.
In the meantime, Diaz remains retired from the UFC, despite his impressive track record. His last UFC-sanctioned fight was against Tony Ferguson in Las Vegas. Diaz won that fight and pulled off from professional fighting on a high note.
Despite that, it seems that the UFC star might be interested in returning to competing professionally. Earlier this week, he teased that he is considering returning to the league to seek a championship.
Moreno to Face off against Erceg
Speaking of the UFC, fans are currently waiting for several high-profile fights, including the clash between Brandon Moreno and Steve Erceg. The duel between a former champ of the UFC Flyweight Division and a former title challenger will serve as the main event of UFC Mexico City.
The fight will take place on March 29 at Arena CDMX and will be aired on ESPN+.
