The Legend of the Seas to Get Casinos on Two Decks
Royal Caribbean’s latest ship will feature a casino on two floors, as the cruise liner’s vessels are reinventing themselves to cater to modern-day travelers’ preferences

Royal Caribbean is determined to keep scaling up its casino experience on board its ships. The company has now confirmed that its latest and incoming ship, the Legend of the Seas, will feature a two-level casino gaming venue that will be decked out with slots and table games.
Casinos Are Occupying More Space on Cruise Ships
Cruise liners have been expanding their entertainment options, with casinos taking a preference. The ship will start sailing next summer and is due for a commercial voyage on July 11, 2026.
In terms of what the casino will actually feature, the initial reports suggest at least several hundred slot machines along with 40-odd live dealer table games. The Legend of the Seas is hardly the only ship to be taking a bold step into the casino sector, with Carnival Cruises announcing a series of adult-only gambling cruises.
Earlier this year, Royal Caribbean announced plans to drop some of its jazz and comedy clubs in favor of expanded casino and gaming spaces. However, cruise companies have been cagey about their gambling revenue and have not really itemized their income from casinos anywhere on their balance sheets, using the vaguer “onboard revenue” metric instead.
Commenting on Legend of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International president and CEO Michael Bayley said: “With Legend of the Seas, we are bringing to life our most legendary vacation yet as we continue to push the boundaries with more of what guests know and love.
Those looking to get the most out of their vacation can have it all with Legend’s combination of adventure-packed experiences and incredible destinations in Europe and the Caribbean.”
