Tarek El Moussa’s Las Vegas Casino Battery Charge Dismissed
Tarek’s charge originated from a physical altercation that occurred inside the casino at the Palazzo hotel. The situation reportedly began when a man accidentally bumped into the chair where Tarek’s father was seated while playing roulette

Tarek El Moussa, a co-host of HGTV’s Flip or Flop, was previously facing a misdemeanor battery charge related to an altercation at a Las Vegas casino in June. However, a Las Vegas judge dismissed the charge on August 5.
Judge Dismisses Tarek El Moussa’s Battery Charge
According to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE, the 43-year-old HGTV star completed counseling and remained “out of trouble.” As a result, the case against him was officially closed, as stated in the August 5 disposition notice and judgment from the Justice Court of Las Vegas Township.
Although El Moussa and his wife Heather, who was also present at the scene of the initial accident, never publicly commented on the incident, the couple shared moments from their Las Vegas trip in a joint Instagram Reel posted on June 7. The video included several clips of the married HGTV stars enjoying time with their families. El Moussa’s father appeared in the background of a few shots and was also featured in a group photo at the end of the reel, standing next to his son. It seems that it is exactly what happened to El Moussa’s father, which allegedly drove the HGTV star to the incident.
What Happened on that Day At the Casino?
El Moussa’s charge originated from a physical altercation that occurred inside the casino at the Palazzo hotel. The situation reportedly began when a man accidentally bumped into the chair where El Moussa’s father was seated while playing roulette. Offended by the gesture, El Moussa’s father turned to stare at the man before resuming his game. In response, the man allegedly patted El Moussa’s father on the shoulder and said something to him, prompting Tarek, who was seated nearby, to jump up and step in.
Witnesses reported that El Moussa pushed the man back, which resulted in both men assuming a “fighting stance.” The man then tried to take El Moussa down, but he allegedly responded by hitting him with a knee, which sent the man to the floor. After that, El Moussa hit the other man several more times in the head before walking away.
The alleged victim sustained bruising under his right eye and a cut on the bridge of his nose from the altercation, but declined medical treatment at the scene. El Moussa told police that he intervened to protect his father, who has back problems.
