Stake Enters Denmark with 5-Year Online Gambling License
Online betting company Stake is officially moving into Denmark, marking another step in its rapid international growth.
Five-Year Online License for Casinos and Sports
The company has secured a five-year licence that allows it to offer both online casino games and sports betting in the country that is already known as one of Europe’s most established and tightly regulated gambling markets.
Stake plans to bring its full Stake.dk platform to Danish users. That includes its casino games, sportsbook, and the technology that powers them, with a focus on launching its global product while also adapting it to local players.
The expansion also comes with a physical presence. Starting March 1, 2026, Stake Denmark will operate from a new headquarters located inside Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. The stadium is home to FC Copenhagen and serves as Denmark’s national football venue.
“Fresh, World-Class Experience”
Peter Eugen Clausen, Managing Director at Stake Denmark, believes the competitive environment is part of the appeal.
“Denmark has one of the most well-regulated and competitive gaming markets in Europe, and that’s exactly what makes it so exciting. With Stake’s arrival, Danish players can expect a fresh, world-class experience backed by global scale and strong local focus.”
Clausen added they also plan to raise the bar “in terms of product, transparency, and entertainment”, while expressing the company’s view that “increased competition from brands like Stake will only drive the market forward in a positive way.”
The move is also Stake’s first step into the Nordic region. Brais Pena, Chief Strategy Officer at Easygo, the technology company behind Stake: “Denmark marks our entry into the Nordics and represents a clear win in one of Europe’s most mature and high-value markets. With each new market, our momentum continues to build as we deliver on our global expansion strategy.”
Since launching in 2017, Stake has grown quickly and built a global customer base. Its arrival in Denmark reflects the company’s wider effort to enter regulated markets rather than operate only in less restrictive regions. As part of the launch, Stake says it will offer tools designed to promote responsible gambling. These features are meant to help players track their activity and stay in control.
