Sports.com Media to Acquire Racing Women in Pursuit of Motorsports Growth
Racing Women’s intellectual property and rights will be integrated into the broader business, furthering SEGG Media’s motorsport growth ambitions
SEGG Media, a global sports, entertainment and gaming group, announced that its subsidiary Sports.com Media Group has set out to acquire Racing Women Limited, an organization empowering female drivers in motorsport.
SEGG Media Wants to Expand Its Motorsports Presence
According to the announcement, Sports.com Media Group has signed a letter of intent to acquire the entirety of Racing Women Limited. Per this agreement, Sports.com Media will become the racing organization’s rights holder. In addition to that, Sports.com Media will acquire a 51% controlling stake in a new entity that holds all of Racing Women’s assets at a $1 million valuation.
According to the announcement, Racing Women’s intellectual property and rights will be integrated into the broader business, furthering SEGG Media’s motorsport growth ambitions.
The official announcement celebrated Racing Women for its rapid growth, continuously increasing viewership, and success in popularizing motorsports to women.
SEGG Media, which is the company behind the likes of Sports.com and Lottery.com, has been steadily growing its presence in the global motorsport sector. In 2025 alone, the company sponsored two IndyCar drivers and one Indy NXT driver, and invested in Veloce Media Group and Quadrant. The company plans to unlock synergies by introducing Racing Women to the Veloce ecosystem, further empowering female drivers.
The acquisition of Racing Women comes shortly after the inaugural Sports.com Nations Trophy at Donington Park, which was attended by 8 Racing Women competitors from 7 nations. The event was won by Jorden Dolischka from Austria, who achieved 40 points and secured a funded drive at the Radical Gulf Cup opener in Abu Dhabi in November.
Both Parties Express Excitement About the Deal
Matthew McGahan, SEGG Media’s president, chair, and chief executive officer, asserted his company’s confidence in the Racing Women platform and the “extraordinary talent it is cultivating.”
By bringing Racing Women into the SEGG family, we are not only securing shareholder value but also positioning the Sports.com brand at the forefront of women’s motorsport worldwide.
Matthew McGahan, president, chair & CEO of SEGG Media
Graeme Glew, Racing Women’s founder, praised the acquisition arrangement as “the best news” in a long time. Glew, who founded Formula Woman 24 years ago, was at first unsure whether people were ready for women in motorsport. This has since changed, as the sector continues to grow at a rapid pace.
Glew concluded: “Today, with women’s empowerment and STEM initiatives driving change across motorsport, Sports.com is the perfect partner for Racing Women to accelerate growth and inspire engagement with women worldwide. I couldn’t be more excited.”
