Spelinspektionen Flags SkillOnNet for Missing Responsible Gaming Warnings

In its review, the Swedish Gambling Authority stated that SkillOnNet had “neglected” its duty to present responsible gaming information to all users clearly

Spelinspektionen, AKA the Swedish Gambling Authority, has issued a regulatory notice to SkillOnNet after finding that the logged-out version of Prime Casino’s website did not display the required responsible gaming (RG) icons.

Spelinspektionen Warns SkillOnNet

The missing tools included links for self-assessing gambling behavior, setting deposit limits, adjusting login time restrictions, and initiating self-exclusion. Under Swedish gambling laws, operators are required to prominently display responsible gaming information and resources.

These features are essential for helping players make informed choices and maintain control over their gambling. The regulator emphasized that the icons should have been visible to all users, including those who were not logged in.

In its review, the Swedish Gambling Authority stated that SkillOnNet had “neglected” its duty to present responsible gaming information to all users clearly. The absence of these icons in the logged-out view constituted a failure to comply with Swedish regulatory standards fully.

Even so, the regulator noted that the operator adhered to most other requirements and moved quickly to correct the issue. SkillOnNet’s prompt response helped prevent additional regulatory action. The authority stressed that while the company generally maintains a solid level of compliance, it must ensure responsible gaming information is consistently accessible across all user interfaces.

One might say that SkillOnNet has gone away with this interaction very lightly compared to other operators in the country. Earlier this month, for example, Spelinspektionen banned CGG Entertainment Ltd., a company that was found to be operating without a license.

SkillOnNet Fixed the Problem

After receiving the notice, SkillOnNet stated that all responsible gaming icons had always been visible to users who were logged in. The company added that it had already detected the absence of these icons in the logged-out view prior to the regulator’s supervisory action. SkillOnNet confirmed that the problem was fixed shortly after the authority requested a formal response, describing the missing icons as a technical oversight rather than an intentional omission.

The Swedish Gambling Authority acknowledged the company’s swift response, noting that SkillOnNet had generally met its obligations to provide players with the necessary information and promptly corrected the shortcomings once they were brought to its attention.
