Authorities Charge Six Men for Obstructing Investigation

The Metropolitan Police said the six defendants appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 9. All were granted bail and are scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, March 9. None of them has been charged with murder. Officers are continuing to search for 25-year-old Youssef Razak, who is wanted in connection with the killing.

Mr Stevens’ family issued a public appeal for information. In a statement, they said nothing could undo what had been taken from them and that their lives would never be happy or complete without Blue. They urged anyone with information about the crime or the person responsible to come forward, adding that even the smallest detail could make a difference for his children.

Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command said officers were continuing to pursue every possible line of inquiry as part of the investigation. She added that their thoughts remained with Stevens’ family, who were being supported by specialist officers.

What Happened on that Faithful Day?

Stevens, a father of two, was fatally stabbed last summer in front of his partner outside The Park Tower Casino. Initial reports suggested he was attacked while trying to fight off a masked robber attempting to steal his Rolex watch. However, police later said they were keeping an open mind, indicating that the killing may have been a targeted attack.

Guests staying at the casino on June 9 last year said they heard a disturbance and police sirens at around 9:25 p.m. One witness reported seeing a man on the ground while paramedics attempted to resuscitate him. Police said Stevens was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene shortly after emergency crews arrived at about 9:30 p.m.

A couple of days after the incident, police arrested three suspects involved in the case. At the time, Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah said the arrests marked a major step forward in the ongoing and complex murder investigation. However, as it still stands, the case remains open with more suspects now entering the picture.
