Rose Gaming Resort Player Makes History by Winning the Largest HHR Jackpot Ever

The prize stood at a record-breaking $1,014,879, making it perhaps the largest HHR jackpot in US history

A visitor of The Rose Gaming Resort has made history by winning the largest sum ever won from a historical horseracing terminal (HHR). That’s not all, however, since that win was followed by several six-figure prize drops.

A Record-Breaking HHR Jackpot

The Rose Gaming Resort, a gaming property in Dumfries, Virginia, reported that a lucky visitor won over a million dollars from a Straight Cash HHR machine at the venue. The prize stood at a record-breaking $1,014,879, making it perhaps the largest HHR jackpot in US history.

For context, the previous record was held by Rosie’s Hampton, which in 2021 handed a $914K prize to a fortunate player.

The new record was set on January 22 by an anonymous player who was referred to as a “Prince William County local.” What made the win even more special is the fact that it was won on a 25-cent wager, proving that one doesn’t need to be a high roller to win big.

Bobbi Sample, The Rose Gaming Resort’s general manager, commented on the win, congratulating the winner and saying that he is proud that the top HHR jackpot in American history was won at his resort.

Your life can change with a single wager at The Rose. It’s fitting that the biggest jackpot in American history was won at America’s finest historical horse racing venue right here in Virginia.

More Rosie’s Players Won Big

In the meantime, players at other venues under Rosie’s umbrella won mouth-watering prizes. These included $176,883 won on a $1 wager on Ultimate Fire Link at Rosie’s in New Kent, as well as $151,961 won on a $0.75 cent spin on Lion Link at Rosie’s in Richmond.

Earlier, a player at Rosie’s Richmond won $33,380 on The Enforcer. A player at Rosie’s Hampton, on the other hand, won $22,452 on Miner’s Dream Blue Mountain.

Speaking of HHR machines, Santa Anita Park in California recently added Racing on Demand entertainment machines to its property, which are similar in nature to HHRs. This addition quickly attracted the ire of local tribal gaming competitors, leading to regulatory intervention that ended with the seizure of the new machines.

Santa Anita, however, insists that the machines were fully compliant with the law and is prepared to fight back for their reinstatement.
