Riot Games Approves Partnership Between 1xBet and VALORANT Esports Team
For the first time ever Riot Games has approved a partnership between an online betting company and a Brazilian VALORANT Esports team
A partnership has been announced between 1xBet and the renowned MIBR’s VALORANT Esports team.
Several months ago, Riot Games made a change in its policies regarding League of Legends and VALORANT that would allow partnerships between regulated betting operators and its leagues in the Americas and EMEA.
This opens up a new possible source of income for professional players of both games.
More importantly, with the tie-up between 1xBet and MIBR, an esports team and an online betting company have partnered up in the Riot Games ecosystem for the first time ever.
The director of marketing and partnerships for MIBR, Raphael Castanheira, made the following statement regarding the reason they received Riot’s approval of the partnership:
“Being the first organisation in the entire Riot ecosystem to obtain approval for a betting sponsorship is a direct result of how MIBR operates today, as an organized company with robust governance, clear processes, and protected by policies that put competitive integrity at the forefront”
MIBR’s Raphael Castanheira
MIBR and 1xBet have shared that together they aim to build “a new, immersive fan base,” and to draw more attention towards the Esports team and the Riot Games FPS.
The strategic advisor for 1xBet, Simon Westbury, had this to add:
“This is a historic step for 1xBet — becoming the first official betting partner of an esports team within the Riot Games ecosystem”
1xBet’s Simon Westbury
In 2022, 1xBet and MIBR’s Counter-Strike team began working together officially.
The streamer Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi has been appointed as the ambassador, which was one of the terms in the contract.
The MIBR Roster
The members of the VALORANT Esports team of MIBR are from the US and Brazil.
This year, they were the only Latin American Esports team that managed to qualify for VALORANT Masters Toronto.
Along with that, this year they took fifth place in VALORANT Champions 2025.
Along with allowing such collaborations, Riot requires that certain terms be followed in order to participate in official events.
The main thing is that the jerseys of MIBR’s VALORANT team can’t have any 1xBet branding on them when competing in Riot events.
Riot’s current policy does not allow the advertisement of any form of betting on their official broadcasts and social media.
Pending approval, the partner must be vette,d and they must use official data.
Team integrity programmes are also required.
