Real Madrid is the team with the most Club World Cup titles won in history, with five. The last time they won it was in 2022 when Carlo Ancelotti was their manager. Now, their boss is Xabi Alonso, who would like nothing better than to start his tenure with a title.

So far, his boys have looked more than capable of achieving that goal. They did start slowly with a 1:1 draw in the first round, but since then, we have seen them score a total of six more goals.

Truth be told, they haven’t played against the best of the best in the group phase. In fact, their toughest challenge since coming to America is on the program on July 1 when they’ll lock horns with Juve.

Can Juventus Bounce Back After Man City Loss?

The Italian team started their CWC adventure in top gear, destroying Al Ain 5:0 and Wydad 4:1. But then, in the final round of the group phase, they got hammered by Manchester City 5:2.

It was a bad defeat, especially given that they looked incapable of doing anything on the field. Man City’s players had the ball in their possession for 76% of the time and created 24 goal chances, 11 of which were aimed at the net.

Meanwhile, Juventus only had five goal chances, with just two of those going on target. That said, the fact that they found the net twice is actually impressive. These guys are obviously lethal on the offense, but they need to start to create more chances. The good news is that they have some really good playmakers on the roster, most notably, Kenan Yildiz, who’s in the form of his life right now.

Our prediction is that Juventus will stage an upset and knock Real Madrid out of the 2025 Club World Cup. Sure, Los Blancos are better player-quality-wise, but we think that they still haven’t gotten used to working under the new manager.

The reason why they did well in the group phase is that they didn’t have to play against any elite opponents. We think they’re in for a rude awakening when they face the mighty Juve on July 1.
