PrizePicks Secured a Major Agreement with Kalshi
PrizePicks, which has been looking to tap into the rapidly growing prediction markets sector, has confirmed a new arrangement with Kalshi that will allow the latter to offer event contracts via the former’s PrizePicks app. This will expand access to prediction markets across America, allowing customers to make predictions on a variety of events, including sports, politics, and more.
PrizePicks, which just penned a similar partnership with Polymarket, is planning on partnering with both companies to expand access to prediction-based products. Its foray into the prediction markets sector responds to growing demand for sports betting alternatives.
According to the announcement, the PrizePicks app now offers predictions on Kalshi-listed markets in 38 states, including Washington DC. These notably include Team Picks and Culture Picks products. The first category is centered on shorter-term sports results, such as match winners, as well as longer-term results, such as tournament and championship placings and outcomes.
The markets will be available in 15 states that do not currently offer regulated sports betting, allowing local fans to satisfy their thirst for sports-themed predictions.
Culture Picks, on the other hand, will allow users to make predictions on a variety of non-sports events, such as award shows, movie releases and political outcomes. This is a major addition for PrizePicks, which has historically been more focused on sports.
Exploring Synergies Between DFS and Prediction Markets
In addition to expanding PrizePicks’ scope beyond fantasy sports, the agreement with Kalshi will benefit the latter company by allowing it to tap into the former’s broad customer base and explore synergies between the two verticals.
