Police Raid Illegal Gaming Den in Florida, Arrest Two
Officials seized a staggering 66 slot machines, as well as an undisclosed amount of money
Sarasota County authorities have cracked down on yet another illegal gambling operation, arresting two people and seizing dozens of slot machines. This happened several weeks after another illegal operation was busted.
SCSO Raided an Illegal Gaming Location
Yet another unlicensed gaming hub in Florida has been busted after local authorities teamed up to crack down on an illegal gambling den. The raid was carried out in cooperation between the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Intelligence Unit, Tactical Unit, Special Investigations Section, and Patrol Bureau, and the Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC).
According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, the operation came after an investigation that lasted several months. Officers secured a search warrant to investigate Spin 24/7, which was a reported unlicensed gaming den.
Officials seized a staggering 66 slot machines, as well as an undisclosed amount of money. In addition to that, two people ended up in custody.
Two People Were Arrested
The operation resulted in the arrests of two people, believed to be behind the unlicensed operation. These were identified as Mohammed Belyaqout and Mabielka C. Cumbrera. The former arrestee was detained on March 26 at the reported den, while the latter was arrested at her residence on the day after.
Both were booked into the Sarasota County Correctional Facility, according to the report.
The SCSO noted that it Spin 24/7 had previously received a cease-and-desist letter, but failed to comply.
Sheriff Hoffman commented on the matter, emphasizing that the operators of illegal gambling will be held accountable for their actions.

SCSO Previously Cracked Down on a Separate Gaming Den
In other news, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) previously reported that a joint operation with the FGCC had resulted in the arrest of five individuals between the ages of 26 and 44. The arrests were due to another illegal gaming operation in the state.
Officials also seized illegal gambling machines, cash and issued Notices to Appear to store owners and managers.
