Police Apprehend People Suspected of Running a Game Room

Three people have been apprehended by police in Henderson County, Kemp, Texas, after police executed a search warrant at what they suspected was a game room, and it proved correct.

Police homed in on the location at 1925 N. Seven Points Blvd. in Kemp on Friday, April 10, 2026. Investigators had been staking out the location, called “The Box” game room, for a while before moving in.

One person, Alisha Norris, 43, was taken into custody with two other people – Gayla Stanley, 64, and Rad Quarrington, 62, also arrested for their involvement in the operation. 

Presently, police have filed charges of gambling promotion and running a gambling establishment, along with owning gambling devices and engaging in an organized criminal activity, but prosecutors may revise the charges and remove or bring more against the trio.

Crackdown on gambling in Texas continues, with authorities recently raiding The Lodge poker club. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission seized the venue’s assets, leaving its future uncertain, despite no formal charges being filed so far.

Investigators are reportedly exploring potential illegal gambling violations, although that line of argument appears legally tenuous at this stage. Instead, money laundering is emerging as the more plausible avenue for prosecutors.

The Lodge, backed by prominent poker figures such as Doug Polk and Andrew Neeme, has strongly denied any wrongdoing, insisting that it has operated fully within the bounds of the law. The venue remains closed for the time being.
