Palms Casino Resort to Close Two Restaurants by Chefs Palladino and Vetri

Gregory Van Stone, vice president of food and beverage at the Palms, thanked Chefs Luke Palladino and Marc Vetri, along with their teams, for their partnership and the experiences they created for Palm owners and guests.

According to a statement from the Palms Casino Resort, the venue has reached a mutual agreement with Chefs Luke Palladino and Marc Vetri not to extend the existing contracts for their respective restaurant operations.

Two High-End Restaurants at the Palms Casino Resort Will Close

Laguna Pool House and Rojo Lounge, both concepts developed by Chef Luke Palladino, will close after service on October 12. A closing date has not yet been set for Vetri Cucina, the restaurant from Chef Vetri. Originally opened at the property in November 2018, Vetri Cucina is the Las Vegas outpost of the acclaimed Philadelphia restaurant often recognized as one of the most influential Italian dining establishments in the US.

Less than a year and a half after its debut, Vetri Cucina closed in March 2020 at the onset of the pandemic, coinciding with the temporary closure of the Palms. The restaurant later reopened in November 2022, resuming operations in its original 56th-floor location.

Meanwhile, Chef Luke Palladino, along with his company Meta Hospitality, opened Laguna Pool House in April 2023 in a striking glass-walled venue on the sixth-floor pool deck at Palms Place, a space that previously housed a restaurant by the late Chef Kerry Simon. Palladino transformed the location with a globally inspired menu, tropical-themed craft cocktails, DJ vinyl sets, multilingual karaoke nights, brunch towers, tiki events, and other vibrant experiences.

Chefs and Officials Talk About the Announcement

In the statement, Chef Luke Palladino said that Las Vegas is a city built on reinvention, and following thoughtful discussions with the Palms team, it was mutually agreed that closing the restaurants at Palms Place on October 12 was the right decision. He expressed gratitude to his team for their hard work and creativity, and thanked the homeowners and guests for their support, adding that it had been an honor to be part of the community.

Meanwhile, Chef Marc Vetri expressed pride in what his team accomplished at Vetri Cucina, thanking everyone involved, such as his staff, the Palms, and the Las Vegas community. He noted that the relationships formed during their time there will last a lifetime. While acknowledging they will miss the 56th floor, he shared his gratitude for the experience and opportunity.

Gregory Van Stone, vice president of food and beverage at the Palms, concluded the statement by expressing gratitude to Chefs Luke Palladino and Marc Vetri, along with their teams, for their partnership and the experiences they created for both Palms Place homeowners and Palms guests. He acknowledged their contributions as a valued chapter in the resort’s ongoing story.
