Will Seattle’s Home Team Advantage Seal the 49ers’ Fate?

The Seattle Seahawks have every reason to believe that they are going to move on to the Playoffs. After all, they have already defeated the 49ers in a rather intense, but ultimately unquestionable display of class on January 3.

And this was in front of the 49ers’ own fans, so what to expect whenthe 49ers arrive in Seattle to play the Saturday game? Naturally, bookmakers are expecting the Seahawks to win, giving them a comfortable (-350) lead on the moneyline.

Yet, the 49ers were able to defeat Indianapolis in the regular season, outpacing them by a 20-point advantage, whereas the Seahawks scraped for a razor-thin two-point lead in the win, indicating that the 49ers are hardly out. 

In fact, the 49ers are coming mentally prepared for the game, whereas the Seahawks are a little out of practice, having gone without a game for the past few weeks. When it comes to their injury reports, the 49ers are doing a bit better, as most of their players on the bench are set to return – or can afford to coast despite the high stakes.

The really problematic injury here is that of Trent Williams, who has some of the best tackles in the league and could prove what it takes to make a win against the Seahawks possible. 

While the odds would suggest that Seattle is going to really bank on its home advantage, we are inclined to believe that the 49ers are going to fight out a narrowly-won game in the end.
