Nassourdine Imavov Loves Fighting in Paris
Born in Dagestan, Nassourdine Imavov has been living in France from an early age. Unlike other Dagestanis, his forte isn’t wrestling but boxing. That said, “The Sniper” does have decent takedown defense skills.
His TD defense percentage is 78%, which is actually very impressive given that he’s fought some takedown masters over the years. This includes Brendan Allen, who landed just one TD against him, which wasn’t enough to avoid losing by decision.
Imavov is good in the clinch, but his strongest weapon is striking. He’s got decent volume (4.45 significant strikes per minute), but what’s really impressive is his precision and power – just ask Israel Adesanya.
In his most recent visit to the UFC Octagon, Imavov TKO-ed Izzy early in the second round. It was his 7th win by KO/TKO, a method he’s never lost by in his career. Actually, he only lost once inside the distance – by submission back in 2016 on his pro MMA debut.
Can Caio Borralho Keep on Winning?
Caio Borralho has a fantastic record and has already defeated many elite UFC opponents, including Michal Oleksiejczuk, Abus Magomedov, Paul Craig, and Jared Cannonier. The best thing about this guy is that he’s a Swiss army knife of a fighter with plenty of weapons in his arsenal.
This explains why he’s got five wins by KO/TKO in his portfolio, along with four by submission, and eight by decision. He lands 3.61 significant strikes a minute, which isn’t bad, especially knowing that he absorbs just 2.34. In comparison, Imavov gets hit 3.26 times a minute on average.
The Brazilian also lands 1.56 takedowns per 15 minutes and has a 76% TD defense. He hasn’t used his wrestling skills much lately, with zero TDs landed in his last three fights. In each of those fights, however, we saw him drop the opponent with a knockdown.
Nassourdine Imavov vs. Caio Borralho Prediction
We think this is going to be a marathon fight that will last for the full 25 minutes. But who’s gonna win the judges’ votes after the end of the five rounds? We’re backing Imavov.
The thing is that Borralho has turned into a boxer over the last couple of years, and if he decides to go into a striking war with Imavov, it may go wrong for him. It’s going to be close, but we’re backing the Paris-based fighter to win.
