Mohegan Sun Arena to Host Metallica for Its 25th Anniversary

The Mohegan Sun Arena is set to celebrate its 25th anniversary in style, with the venue hosting the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers from Metallica on two days – Thursday, November 19, and Saturday, November 21, giving local fans the chance to see the music legends up close.

Metallica to Play at the Mohegan Sun Arena for the First Time

Just like their residency in Las Vegas, Metallica is all about No Repeat Weekend, meaning that they will feature different setlists and support acts, making sure that people have something worthwhile to come back to and enjoy.

The Thursday, November 19 performance will also feature Suicidal Tendencies, a guest to the performance, and the Saturday, November 21 performance will be joined by Spiritbox. 

Tickets to both performances are due to go on sale shortly – on Friday, April 10, allowing fans to secure their tickets early. 

“Metallica’s first‑ever performance at Mohegan Sun Arena is a truly special moment as we celebrate the venue’s 25th anniversary,” added Mohegan Sun general manager and president, Jeff Hamilton, who was himself excited to see the illustrious guests join the arena for its special days. 

“The 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena has been home to so many unforgettable moments, hosting more than 3,000 events and welcoming over 15 million guests in its history.

We couldn’t be more excited to honor that legacy by welcoming one of the most iconic Rock bands ever and celebrating this milestone with fans,” he explained. 

More importantly, this is Metallica’s first appearance at the venue, and it will be the first time that the band has returned to Connecticut since 1998.
