Michigan Player Turns Millionaire Maker Ticket into $1M Payout

A player in Michigan turned a lottery play into a huge win, with the Ingham County man scooping up a $1,000,000 payout. The win came off a $50 instant lottery ticket and was quite unexpected.

The winner preferred to stay anonymous but has already claimed his prize. He is 55 years old and was playing the Michigan Lottery’s Millionaire Maker instant game, resulting in the coveted game.

Describing the win, things have been pretty normal, he noted, with the man buying a ticket and scanning the bar code right there in the store. When the message appeared that he had won, he hurried in shock to his car and scratched off the ticket. 

“I was so excited when I saw I won $1 million that it was hard to even drive home because I couldn’t focus! I’m still in awe and waiting for it to fully sink in,” the man said, initially finding it difficult to fully grasp what had just happened. 

The winning ticket was bought at Louie’s Party Store at 1931 S. Washington Ave. in Lansing. The man has been playing big tickets only, with the $50 ticket being his favorite. 

As to the mode of picking the prize, the winner has opted for the lump sum, naturally. He has claimed $693,000 after all due taxes. 

This is hardly the first time a player in Michigan has won a big prize, though. Earlier in February, another person claimed the Lucky for Life. 

At the end of January, another player still won $2 million from the lottery and confirmed that they are going to embark on a long-coveted dream trip. In the meantime, a 63-year-old woman from Clinton County scooped a $6-million payout before that, and she vowed to use the money to help her community and family.
