Michigan: Lucky Lottery Player Wins $100K Jackpot from Fantasy 5

A lucky lottery player from Shelby Township, Michigan, scored a hefty jackpot after playing the popular Fantasy 5 game. The Michigan Lottery announced that the 69-year-old winner, Joe Forbert, recently visited the lottery headquarters to claim his $100,000 jackpot prize.

The lucky Michigan player won the jackpot from the lottery game after matching the numbers drawn on May 17. To win the $100,000 jackpot, Forbert matched the numbers 5, 13, 17, 23 and 34. The Shelby Township man purchased his winning ticket from the Meijer store, on 3175 South Rochester Road in Rochester Hills.

The drawings for the Lottery’s popular Fantasy 5 game take place every day of the week at 7:29 PM. Tickets for the popular lottery game can be purchased either via the Michigan Lottery’s website or through retail outlets until 7:08 PM for same-day drawings.

The game costs $1 but offers a range of options that grant a chance for additional prizes. For example, if players purchase EZmatch for an extra $1, they have a chance of winning an instant prize of up to $500. On the other hand, an extra $1 per play for Double Play grants the lottery players a chance of securing a win of up to $110,000 from the game’s nightly Double Play drawing.

The Winner Plans to Buy a Car and Save the Rest of the Win

Speaking about the latest win, Forbert said that he has been playing Fantasy 5 ever since the launch of the game. He revealed that he used to play with Easy Pick numbers. However, in December, Forbert selected a set of numbers and decided to stick to them. This was a good decision as it ultimately brought him the hefty $100,000 win.

“When I saw the winning numbers on TV the night of the drawing, I couldn’t believe my eyes! I knew I won big, but I quickly got online to see if I’d split the jackpot with anyone.“

When asked what he plans to do with the money from the recent prize, Forbert said that he anticipates buying a car. The rest of the money, he said he plans to save.

Recalling the moment Forbert realized he was the winner of the jackpot from Fantasy 5, he said he couldn’t believe his eyes at first. The man revealed that he went online to see if the jackpot was split with another player. Realizing that he was the sole winner, Forbert said that he was “over the moon excited.”
