MGM Resorts and BetMGM Unveil $1M+ RG Commitment Ahead of PGAM

MGM Resorts and BetMGM have jointly committed $450,000 to the ICRG and $850,000 to problem gambling prevention and treatment organizations across America

MGM Resorts International and BetMGM have announced a $1 million expanded commitment to responsible gambling ahead of Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM). With the US preparing to double down on promoting safer gaming in March, MGM and the BetMGM brand reiterated their duty to safeguard their players from harm.

The Operators to Assist and Empower Players

According to the official announcement, MGM Resorts and BetMGM have jointly committed $450,000 to the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG). The money will fuel new “groundbreaking research” into sports wagering and players’ relationships with the vertical.

The study’s objective will be to identify best practices for sustainable gaming. It will continue for three years and will focus on the factors that influence certain behaviors, as well as trends that player protection trends that work.

Rhea Loney, BetMGM’s chief compliance officer, added that PGAM serves as an important reminder to the gaming industry’s shared responsibility to “assist and empower” players.

MGM and BetMGM Support Problem Gambling Treatment

Overall, MGM Resorts and BetMGM will contribute $850,000 to problem gambling prevention and treatment organizations across America in 2026. These will include MGM Resorts’ continued sponsorship of the annual Nevada Council on Problem Gambling Conference.

Throughout March and beyond, the operators vowed to increase their safer gaming signage across both physical casinos and sportsbooks and digital platforms. This initiative will include more signs, messages, and QR codes that remind players to take a break or set a budget. In addition to that, MGM has initiated an MGM Rewards guest survey to gauge how players feel about the company’s safer gaming initiatives.

Additionally, the two operators have initiated a new PGAM email campaign centered on the shared GameSense program. Speaking of GameSense, the GameSense Advisor training has now been expanded and currently exceeds 2,000 certified members who are ready to provide advice and support to struggling players.

MGM and BetMGM will also join the Cambridge Health Alliance’s 13th annual Gambling Disorder Screening Day as participants.

The Operators Announce Support for Other Initiatives

That’s not all, however, as MGM and BetMGM have listed additional commitments. The former will soon launch a new campaign called “Earn More. Play Smart.” As its title suggests, it will remind guests that “membership comes with responsibility, not just perks.”

In the meantime, MGM and BetMGM will launch a social media campaign to champion safer gambling and will continue to provide safer gaming training to employees. The operators will also continue to support the American Gaming Association’s Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly. public service campaign and the Play Smart from the Start initiative.

BetMGM, on the other hand, will partner with EPIC Global Solutions for the sixth year in a row to offer lived experience sessions to its employees.
