MGCB Orders Eight Illegal Online Gambling Sites to Shut Down
Henry Williams, executive director of the MGCB, stated that these illegal operators attempt to appear as legitimate entertainment providers but lack player protections, accountability, and pose significant risks to consumers

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued cease-and-desist orders to eight additional unlicensed online gambling platforms. According to the regulator, these operators were targeting Michigan residents without proper state authorization.
MGCB Issues Eight Cease-and-Desist Orders
The platforms directed to halt their gambling services include Bspin Casino, Everygame Casino, Everygame Sports Casino, Kudos Casino, PlayCroco Online Casino, Slots of Vegas, Spin Dimension, and Super Slots. These sites were found to be offering casino-style games or interactive betting without a valid license, in violation of the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and various provisions of the Michigan Penal Code.
Henry Williams, executive director of the MGCB, stated that these illegal operators attempt to appear as legitimate entertainment providers but lack player protections, accountability, and pose significant risks to consumers. He emphasized that those wishing to offer gambling in Michigan must comply with state laws, warning that the MGCB will take action against those who do not. Williams affirmed the agency’s commitment to aggressively preventing illegal gambling within the state.
Williams also talked about how fake online ads can mislead players into using said unlicensed websites. That’s why he pointed to the MGCB’s Play It Smart, Michigan campaign, which he said gives Michigan residents the tools needed to recognize unlicensed gambling websites.
It promotes awareness of the risks associated with illegal gambling and assists residents in recognizing unlicensed operators. The agency’s website features a “Legal vs. Illegal Gaming” page that outlines the distinctions between approved and unauthorized gaming in Michigan, provides guidance on identifying illegal platforms, and includes a complete list of all MGCB-licensed internet gaming and sports betting operators.
Why Did the Regulator Issue the Orders?
According to Michigan law, only operators licensed by the MGCB are authorized to offer internet gaming and sports betting. The eight entities recently named in cease-and-desist letters were found providing casino-style games and interactive wagering without the necessary state licenses—violating the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and certain provisions of the Michigan Penal Code.
Unlike licensed operators, these platforms are not held to independent testing standards or consumer protection regulations. Each has been ordered to immediately cease operations targeting Michigan residents. Noncompliance may lead to further enforcement actions in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.
