Metallica Finally Out with It – To Take Up Las Vegas Sphere Residency
Yes, Metallica will take up residence in the Las Vegas Sphere following months of cheeky tongue-in-cheek teases to do so
We are shocked. Only we are not. Metallica, the heavy metal band that has defined generations and lives on with rock concerts and the customary residence at a glitzy venue, has confirmed that it will be staying at the Las Vegas Sphere from October 1, 2026.
Metallica Set to Play at The Sphere throughout October
The band will headline eight shows and perform every Thursday and Saturday starting on October 1 and 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, and 31. The residency itself is called “Metallica: Life Burns Faster – Live at Sphere,” inspired by a lyric line from the group’s acclaimed song, Master of Puppets.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has commented on the opportunity to see the band return to Las Vegas, and that the band has been mulling the move since 2023, when they played with U2 at the Sphere.
“About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ’23, I thought, ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory. This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level.”
You Won’t Hear the Same Song Twice
Metallica is going to make sure that the shows are worthwhile and that return visitors do not end up disappointed, as the rock legends won’t be playing the same song twice during the Thursday and Saturday performances.
The “No Repeat Weekend” options will mean that fans can go ahead and purchase tickets for both weekly shows, meaning that they don’t have to worry about sitting through the same show again. The Metallica residency at The Sphere is unlikely to leave seats empty, so make sure to book yourself in early.
