Merab Dvalishvili vs. Henry Cejudo is a bantamweight fight that will take place at Honda Center in LA this coming Saturday as a part of UFC 298

Merab Dvalishvili vs. Henry Cejudo is one of the most exciting fights of UFC 298 because this is a duel between a former two-division champ (Cejudo) and a guy who’s looking for his 10th straight win (Merab).

Merab Dvalishvili to Keep the Machine Running
Merab Dvalishvili is favored to win this fight, which is no surprise given how impressive he’s been lately. Nicknamed The Machine, he’s famous for his incredible stamina which is evident from the fact that he’s won his nine previous fights, eight by decision.

im actually impressed with both guys upon rewatching this. crazy paced fight pic.twitter.com/S6qI9FlyGQ
His most recent fight was a 5-rounder and it saw him beat former champ Petr Yan. Merab absolutely destroyed the Russian fighter in that fight, landing 147 significant strikes, while absorbing 75. He also landed 11 takedowns, while suffering only one.
It was Merab’s best UFC performance to date, but his arguably biggest fight is the one at UFC 298. If he beats the former champ, he will probably get a shot at the title in his next fight.
Henry Cejudo Going All-In on the UFC 298 Fight
Henry Cejudo says he’s gonna retire from MMA if he loses to Merab at UFC 298. If he wins, however, his plan is to fight for the championship belt against the winner of the Sean O’Malley vs. Chito Vera fight. He’s going all or nothing.

So, can he beat Merab? The Olympic gold medalist in wrestling is 16-3 in MMA, where he was a two-division UFC champion. He was a double-champ in 2019 and 2020, but he then decided to retire.
Three years later, he came out of retirement to fight Aljamain Sterling for the UFC Bantamweight title. Merab’s training partner beat him by a split decision in a 5-round battle. Aljo landed way more strikers than him, as well as made more takedowns. Will the same happen this time?
Merab Dvalishvili vs. Henry Cejudo Prediction
We think this is it from Henry Cejudo. Merab Dvalishvili is going to end Cejudo’s career on Saturday. He’s just better at everything than him, with Cejudo’s only advantage being that he’s famous for preparing thoroughly for every bout.
But then again, you can be 100% sure that Merab and his coaches from the Serra-Longo Fight Team have done their due diligence.
Pick: Merab Dvalishvili
