Mega Millions Player Wins $3M, Powerball Fan Grabs $1M

While no one won either game’s top prize, two players scooped up seven-figure sums

Coming after a jackpot-rich season, the latest Powerball and Mega Millions drawings failed to elect a new winner of either game’s top prize. However, US players continued to win big after almost nailing the winning combination.

Mega Millions Fan Won Big

The Friday Mega Millions drawing was business as usual – the jackpot remained elusive, but that didn’t prevent a few players from scoring mouth-watering prizes. The most noteworthy of these was a $3 million windfall thanks to one lucky player’s 3X multiplier.

For context, the winning numbers for the Friday, February 6, drawing were 13, 21, 25, 52, and 62. The Mega Ball landed on 19. Matching all of these numbers correctly would have meant a $346 million payday for a hypothetical winner, or a lump sum of $156.1 million.

While no one won the game’s top prize, a player in Minnesota matched all white numbers except the Mega Ball to win the game’s second-tier prize. Since they had the 3X multiplier active, they will take $3 million instead of the usual two.

At the same time, nine players matched four white numbers and the Mega Ball to win various five-figure prizes. These included two winners of prizes of $20,000, four winners of $30,000 (3X multiplier), a single winner of $40,000 (4X multiplier), and two winners of $50,000 (5X multiplier).

Since the jackpot remained unclaimed, it has continued to grow and is currently standing at $366 million with a cash value of $165.6 million.

The next Mega Millions drawing is set to take place on Tuesday, February 10, at 11 pm ET.

Powerball Minted Another Millionaire

In the meantime, the Powerball game also failed to elect a big winner and crowned multiple smaller winners instead.

For context, the winning Powerball numbers for the drawing on Saturday, February 7, were 25, 36, 42, 51, and 58. The Powerball was 6. Matching all numbers would have resulted in someone winning the $101 million jackpot, which had a cash option of $46.5 million.

Even though the game’s top prize went unclaimed, a winner from Georgia won $1 million after matching all the white numbers except the Powerball. If they had the Power Play feature active, they could have won $2 million instead.

At the same time, eight players won $50,000 each after matching four white numbers and the Powerball. However, one of them had the Power Play feature and will take home $100,000 instead.
