Mega Millions Jackpot Survives Another Drawing
However, 6 players won third-tier prizes, ranging from $20,000 to $40,000
Mega Millions has had another rather uneventful drawing as the jackpot went unclaimed once again. While no one won the jackpot or one of the game’s second-tier prizes, a few players secured five-figure sums.
The Latest Drawing Elected No Big Winners
The Tuesday Mega Millions drawing has gone without a winner after no player succeeded in correctly matching all five white numbers and the Mega Ball. For context, the winning numbers for the November 25 drawing were 11, 15, 31, 32, and 59, with a Mega Ball of 18.
If any player had matched all numbers correctly, they would have won the game’s jackpot, which stood at $70 million at the time. A hypothetical winner would have been able to either pick the annuity or the $32.3 million lump sum option.
The Tuesday drawing did not award a seven-figure second-tier prize either as no player succeeded in matching all five white numbers except the Powerball. This tier usually awards prizes from $2 million to $10 million, depending on the ticket’s multiplier.
However, 6 players won third-tier prizes, which can range from $20,000 to $100,000. In this case, four players won $20,000 each, with another one taking $40,000, and another one taking $50,000. Mega Millions awarded numerous smaller prizes as well.
In the meantime, the jackpot continued to increase and is currently standing at $80 million with an estimated cash value $36.9 million. The next drawing is set to take place this Friday at 11 pm ET.
The Big Prize Was Won Recently
The somewhat unexciting drawings are nothing unexpected considering that the big Mega Millions jackpot was won only recently. After eluding players for months, the game’s top prize had reached a mouth-watering $980 million before it was finally won by a player in Georgia.
Shortly after that, a player in the same state won $4 million after narrowly missing the jackpot and hitting only the game’s white numbers.
In other news, a player in Chicago just won almost half a million from an instant game. In an interview with lottery officials, the man said that he chose that game because of the game’s cute dog mascot.
