Mega Millions Jackpot Stands at $458M for Tonight’s Drawing, Powerball Jackpot Rises to $238M
The Mega Millions drawing will take place later today and will be followed by the Powerball drawing on the day after
The Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots have continued to grow after remaining unclaimed in the latest drawing. While the Tuesday Mega Millions drawing awarded several big prizes, the Wednesday Powerball one was rather uneventful. Despite that, players are now looking forward to the upcoming drawings.
The Next Mega Million Drawing Looms
As the anticipation builds up, Mega Millions fans are hoping to finally land the jackpot, which has remained unclaimed for a while. The most recent jackpot landed over a month ago when a player in Hudson County, New Jersey, won $90 million.
This win came shortly after the winner of the jaw-dropping $983 million Mega Millions jackpot came forward to collect their prize. While this sum was won a few months earlier, the winner did not immediately come forward to scoop up their winnings.
After the January win, Mega Millions drawings have been mostly uneventful, with the exception of a few mouth-watering seven-figure prizes here and there. The most recent drawing, for example, awarded $3 million to a player in Illinois, as well as $5 million to a player in Oklahoma.
The Mega Millions jackpot is currently standing at $438 million with a lump sum option that finally surpassed the $200M mark to reach $203.1 million.
The next drawing is set to take place later today.
Three Players Won $100K Each from the Recent Powerball Drawing
Lottery players can look forward to a weekend of excitement as the Friday Mega Millions drawing will be followed by the next Powerball drawing. The next set of Powerball winning numbers will be revealed this Saturday, when lottery enthusiasts will play for a jackpot of $238 million. The cash value of the game’s top prize reached $110.9 million.
In the meantime, the winning numbers for the Wednesday drawing were 50, 52, 54, 56, and 64, with a Powerball of 23. The drawing, however, had no big winners as no one matched the five white numbers to win the game’s second-tier prize of $1 million ($2 million with Power Play).
However, the Wednesday drawing did produce seven winners of the game’s third-tier prize. These included four players who won $50,000, as well as three who will take home $100,000 due to Power Play.
