Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $110M After No One Won It Yesterday
The April 7 Mega Millions drawing saw a player in New York narrowly miss the $100 million jackpot after correctly matching all white numbers, winning $2 million instead
The Mega Millions jackpot has passed the $100 million milestone after no player succeeded in matching all winning the numbers for yesterday’s drawing. However, a lucky New Yorker came close, settling on a prize of $2 million instead.
The Game’s Grand Prize Continues to Grow
The April 7 Mega Millions drawing saw a player in New York narrowly miss the $100 million jackpot after correctly matching all numbers, except the gold Mega Ball. While the player missed out on a $100 million payday ($44.7 million if he had won and picked the one-time lump sum option), they will still be rewarded for their efforts for a Match 5 prize of $2 million.
For context, the winning numbers for the April 7 drawing were 5, 15, 22, 33, and 37, plus the gold Mega Ball 2.
In addition to the Match 5 winner in New York, several players across the US won the game’s third-tier prize, which ranges from $20,000 to $100,000 depending on the multiplier. In this case, there were nine winners. One of these scored $20,000, four won $30,000, three scooped up $40,000, and a single player took home $50,000.
The next drawing will take place this Friday (April 10), offering players a shot at a $110 million prize with a cash option of $49.2 million.
Delaware Player Took the Powerball Jackpot
In the meantime, a lucky player in Delaware just won Powerball’s jackpot roughly a month after the previous jackpot was won. As a result, the Delaware player will take either the full sum of $231 million as an annuity option or the one-time lump-sum payment of $104.3 million.
In addition to that, a ticket holder in Texas won a $2 million Match 5 prize from the same drawing after correctly matching all numbers except the Powerball. While the usual Match 5 prize is $1 million, the player had the Power Play feature, which doubled their winnings.
