Massachusetts Man Wins $4М Top Prize from State Lottery
Altogether, at least 489 prizes worth $600 or more were claimed across the state on Thursday, including 45 in Boston, 13 in Worcester, and 11 in Springfield

A lucky Massachusetts State Lottery player has claimed the final $4 million top prize in the “$4,000,000 Monopoly Doubler” game, the lottery announced Thursday.
Player Claims $4M Massachusetts State Lottery Win
The winning ticket was purchased at the fittingly named Winners Corner Market in North Andover. The odds of winning the top prize in this game were approximately 1 in 3.8 million. Although the top prize is now off the board, three $1 million prizes are still available in the $10 game.
In addition to the $4 million winner, three $100,000 prizes were also claimed on Thursday. Two of those came from the newly launched “$100,000 Max Winnings” game, with winning tickets sold at Daily Market in Quincy and Board Cabaret in Brockton. The third $100,000 prize was won in the Mass Cash game, with the ticket sold at Post Road Pantry in Marlborough.
Altogether, at least 489 prizes worth $600 or more were claimed across the state on Thursday, including 45 in Boston, 13 in Worcester, and 11 in Springfield.
Win Highlights Some Controversies Regarding Lottery Courier Services
The win was confirmed in a Jackpocket announcement. Jackpocket is a digital lottery courier service that enables users to buy state and national lottery tickets online. In 2024, the company was acquired by DraftKings in a $750 million deal. Currently, seventeen states, including Massachusetts, permit Jackpocket and similar online lottery platforms. That’s fortunate for the latest record-breaking winner, who defied the staggering 1-in-3,780,000 odds to claim the grand prize.
Pete Sullivan, DraftKings’ senior vice president of lottery, expressed excitement over the milestone, noting that the win represents the largest scratch ticket prize ever claimed through Jackpocket. He described it as a significant achievement for the company and a reflection of the strong interest customers have shown in the scratch ticket feature, which provides a convenient new way to engage with the lottery.
However, Jackpocket’s lottery ticket distribution services have not been without controversy. Although sports betting has dominated the spotlight during the gambling industry’s recent surge, other segments such as the lottery and iGaming sectors have largely flown under the radar.
Jackpocket previously operated in Texas but was effectively sidelined following controversy tied to the state lottery. The situation drew heightened scrutiny after two massive jackpots, worth $95 million and $83.5 million, were won by customers who had bulk-purchased tickets through online couriers, including Jackpocket. In response, Governor Greg Abbott launched an investigation into the matter. This resulted in Texas cracking down on online courier ticket sales, which effectively led to Jackpocket seizing operations in the state by late spring this year.
