After a horrible run in the last couple of weeks of 2024, Manchester City are playing very well. They’re undefeated in the Premier League since December, with a 2-1-0 record in 2025. In their most recent Premier League game, they beat Ipswich 6:0.

If they can keep the momentum, they can easily get into the Champions League zone. In fact, if their winning run continues, they might even get to challenge for the title.

Sure, that doesn’t seem very plausible given that Liverpool have 12 points more and a game in hand. But the season is long, and anything can happen in the next couple of months.

They have the motivation, but do they have the player quality needed to beat Chelsea? The answer is yes, given that they’re without a loss to this opponent since 2021.

Chelsea’s Players Just Love Big Games

Chelsea are fourth in the standings, but they were even higher a few weeks ago. However, their recent form in the Prem hasn’t been great – they’re 1-2-2 in their last five games.
