Magomed Ankalaev vs Alex Pereira 2 UFC 320 Odds, Time, and Prediction

Alex Pereira has been working hard since March to take on Ankalaev in their rematch this October – can he do it?

Alex Pereira is walking out in the octagon on Saturday, October 4, and he will be taking on a worthy and, in all likelihood, challenging opponent – Magomed Ankalaev. Having lost to Ankalaev before, Pereira is determined to do better this time around.

Ankalaev has gone from strength to strength, sitting at an enviable 21-1-1 record, whereas Pereira has been quietly preparing for the rematch since the March 8, 2025, bout, which he conceded in the 5th round.

When, Where, and How to Watch?

  • Place: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, United States
  • Date: Saturday, October 4
  • Time: Oct 4, 2025, 7:00 PM PDT (Las Vegas time)
  • How to Watch: UFC

Pereira would need to fight the fight of his life to make sure that he has a chance against Ankalaev, who is not only resurgent but uncontested would be a more accurate description of it. He is also posted as the heavy favorite, given (-260) on the moneyline, and Pereira is trailing at (+220).

Of course, there are some other factors to consider here. For starters, Pereira has claimed that he was not in his best form during their first clash, eliciting both support and Internet humor about his “40% comment.”

Yet, Pereira appears to have doubled down. He hasn’t fought anyone else since his last bout, making sure to put his full energy into the upcoming clash with Ankalaev. Their rivalry has not gotten out of hand, but both men are confident that they can win the next fight, with Ankalaev clearly in the lead.

Pereira is the only fighter to have seriously challenged Ankalaev since his five-round bout against Thiago Santos in 2022, and both fights were won by Unanimous Decision, which is encouraging in Pereira’s case.

This means that he has the stamina and the fortitude to go head-to-head with Anakalaev, parry his grappling, and also withstand heavy body shots. Plus, Perreira losing by U-Dec is another clear indication that the fight, while decisively going in Ankalaev’s way, was not the entire story of their rivalry.

Pereira Has the Track Record of Defeating Big Names

There is a big if, however, as to whether Pereira can muster the other 60% of his performance (to lean on the joke here). He has been silent and supposedly training hard over the past months. Interestingly, both fighters have defeated Jan Blachowicz by Split Decision, which goes to show that there is more than meets the eye here.

While Ankalaev is riding the better record, it’s also worth noting that Pereira has not really fought small-timers and most of his professional career has been diving into headline serious fights. Pereira is a more focused fighter in the sense that he has been looking to challenge the biggest names in the sport, and he has earned fans’ respect for that.

Our pick here? Bet on the Brazilian in this one.

Pick: Pereira to win (+220)
