Lottoland Celebrates 20M Players Worldwide
Nigel Birrell, Lottoland’s chief executive officer, praised Lottoland’s progress, which reflects the company’s relentless ambition to remain ahead of the curve and disrupt the market with game-changing products

Lottery provider Lottoland just celebrated a major milestone as its platform surpassed 20 million customers worldwide. Now over ten years old, the lottery company continues to provide players with engaging lottery games.
A Major Milestone for the Company
Lottoland was founded in 2013 and has since been going from strength to strength. The company currently employs some 450 people and operates in 15 markets, providing millions of players with the opportunity to win huge jackpots.
Lottoland has been growing fast, with millions of new players joining the platform every year. In 2023 alone a whopping 2.5 million new customers joined the Lottoland family. This spectacular growth can be attributed to Lottoland’s passion for innovation and the continued improvement of its platform.
The company recently launched Lopetto, an in-house AI-powered customer service chatbot, allowing the company to optimize its resources while helping customers address any issues they encounter.
In addition, the company has also been steadily expanding its geographical presence and has filed a license in Brazil, hoping to capitalize on upcoming market regulations.
Another thing that sets Lottoland apart from its competition is the company’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility. This was reflected in the Lottoland Cares campaign in South Africa, which saw it provide support to communities, wildlife and domestic animals. On the Maltese front, the company renewed its agreement with Nature Trust, vowing to support wildlife rescue efforts. Last but not least, Lottoland remains committed to bringing its carbon emissions down to net zero.
Lottoland is also an active participant in regulatory discussions and, earlier this year, voiced its concerns about the major changes planned for Great Britain’s gaming sector and their implementation.
CEO Birrell Praised the Progress, Said There Is More in Store
Nigel Birrell, Lottoland’s chief executive officer, praised Lottoland’s progress, which reflects the company’s relentless ambition to remain ahead of the curve and disrupt the market with game-changing products. He expressed pride in his team’s ability to continue breaking the mold with its products and automation efforts.
He added that his team is proud that more than 20 million people were using Lottoland in 2024, saying that this is a monumental achievement for the company. He pointed out that the company has doubled its customer base since 2019 when Lottoland recorded 10 million customers.
Birrell teased that Lottoland has many more plans and is looking forward to driving further innovation and bringing more excitement to all 20 million customers.
