The lucky Ontarian was reportedly playing MGM Grand Millions, a branded slot game exclusive to BetMGM Casino platforms in the province of Ontario. MGM Grand Millions is a 5×3 slot game that celebrates the MGM brand and features its signature golden lion.

The first of the two jackpots was reportedly won on April 21, on a $20 spin. This was the news-breaking CAD 1.6 million ($1.16 million) jackpot which made headlines in April.

Then, less than a week later, the player won a separate CAD 442K ($302K) jackpot on a $15 bet. This brought the grand total of their winnings to over CAD 2 million (over $1.45 million). These life-changing prizes confirmed that lightning can strike twice after all.

The April 21 progressive jackpot was a part of The Big One, a jackpot pool related to 19 proprietary Entain-developed games.
