Leo Margets, Ready for Historic WSOP Final Table
The 2025 WSOP Main Event final table is scheduled for July 15, and 41-year-old Leo Margets is in the spotlight as the first woman in the last three decades to reach the iconic stage

The 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event has reached its final nine players from a record-breaking field of 9,735 participants. The last stage of the tournament will play out on July 15.
The last players standing will go on a crazy hunt for one of poker’s ultimate prizes of $10 million plus the iconic WSOP gold bracelet.
This year’s final table already promises to be memorable, as Spain’s Leo Margets makes history by becoming the first woman to reach the WSOP Main Event final table in three decades, the last being Barbara Enright in 1995.
Margets: “It’s So Unreal”
Entering fifth in chips, Margets has a chance to cement her name among poker’s greats and inspire players worldwide.
“It’s so unreal,” Margets told PokerGO after clinching her seat at the table. “Right now, it’s like a dream. It means so much, like how lucky I am to live this.”
At 41, Leonor “Leo” Margets has built a remarkable career as one of Spain’s top poker pros, while also making her mark as an author, motivational speaker, and consultant.
She first stumbled onto poker in 2007 through a Sit & Go game that she simply watched at first, only to later get hooked on the “strategic and psychological depth.”
After she earned a master’s in management and communications from IE Business School and worked for International Management Group, Margets decided to completely dedicate her attention to poker.
In 2008, she won the University Poker Championship in Barcelona, a feat that also brought her an important sponsorship deal with the well-known 888poker brand.
The following year, she entered the 2009 WSOP Main Event, where she battled through a field of over 6,500 players and finished an impressive 27th. She also grabbed the title of Last Woman Standing.
In 2021, she finally took home her first WSOP gold bracelet, winning Event #83: $1,500 The Closer, along with a payday of more than $375,000.
That same year, she entered the Spanish Poker Hall of Fame next to Adrián Mateos.
With more than $2 million in live tournament earnings across 121 cashes, she’s firmly cemented her place among Spain’s poker elite.
Beyond her poker achievements, Margets is also known in Spain as a television personality. She competed on Supervivientes (Spain’s version of Survivor) in 2014 and won the first season of Traitors España in 2023 alongside boxer Joana Pastrana.

Joining her at the final table are eight other hopefuls, each guaranteed at least $1 million. Leading the pack is John Wasnock, an investment consultant from North Bend, Washington, who sits atop the chip counts.
Also in the hunt are Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, a four-time WSOP bracelet winner, Braxton Dunaway, Kenny Hallaert, Luka Bojovic, Adam Hendrix, Daehyung Lee, and Jarod Minghini. Together, they’ll be playing for more than $30 million in remaining prize money.
