Kalshi Secures Daniel Negreanu as Its New Brand Ambassador

As the regulatory clouds are gathering over Kalshi’s head, the platform is forging ahead, confident in its future and staying power

Kalshi is not backing down, even though one regulator after the next has warned against prediction market platforms and filed lawsuits against many of the prominent operators in the United States.

For their part, Robinhood, Kalshi, and others are fighting back, launching counter litigation of their own. Amid this, Kalshi is doubling down on expanding its reach and connecting with a wider audience through the introduction of Daniel Negreanu as the platform’s new official face.

KidPoker Says Kalshi and Prediction Markets Are Fun

“KidPoker,” as Negreanu is known, is a 2014 Poker Hall of Fame, and a well-known celebrity at the green felt and off it. The news comes at a time when Kalshi is already sporting a player base of more than one million users and is available in 50 states in the United States, despite pushback in places such as Massachusetts and New Jersey.

The company says that it has already handled $2 billion worth of sports trades through its platform, which has been the main regulatory complaint against it.

To celebrate the partnership, Negreanu said that users who sign up for Kalshi using the DNEGS promo code and deposit $100 will get a $40 bonus, which will then be subject to the platform’s terms and conditions.

Negreanu did not mention any of the regulatory battles Kalshi has been fighting, focusing on his own experience with the platform, which he found fun, and cared enough about it to share his own enthusiasm for it with the public.

Kalshi is making a smart move. After securing influence with the Trump family through Donald Trump Jr., who is an advisor at the company, the firm is now expanding in an area where the core audience is accustomed to speculation and thrives on it.

The nod from Negreanu gives it further momentum in the populous poker space, and more importantly, likely drives significant traffic for interested users to it.

Striking Home with an Audience That Is Already Risk-Keen

Negreanu explained his decision to PokerNews, a popular media outlet specializing in poker, and said:

“What do poker players like to do? We like to make prop bets on a wide variety of different goofy markets that we come up with, right? And there’s a whole bunch here, and you know, maybe in the future, there’s nothing up there right now on this, but one of the things I thought about was where we discussed maybe some cool poker markets, right.”

While legal challenges for Kalshi are unlikely to subside, the platform is quickly becoming an indelible part of the culture of betting and gaming, even if the platform has refused to accept that its products constitute a form of gambling in the same sense that sports bets do.
