Kalshi Secures $1B in Capital, Valuation Reaches Approximately $22B

Kalshi’s valuation has now exceeded that of all of America’s sports betting companies, including that of forerunners, such as FanDuel and DraftKings

Reports say that prediction markets leader Kalshi has secured $1 billion in fresh capital in its latest funding round. According to people familiar with the matter, the round was led by Coatue Management.

The Funding Round Sends Kalshi’s Valuation into the Stratosphere

Coming shortly after rumors suggesting that Kalshi was on the lookout for extra capital, the recent report says that Kalshi has secured $1 billion in fresh capital.

As mentioned, people familiar with the matter said that the round was led by Coatue Management and saw existing investors provide further backing, too. This was notably Coatue’s first investment in Kalshi, further bringing prediction markets into the mainstream.

The latest investment brings the total valuation of Kalshi to $22 billion. This sum is roughly two times higher than it was at the end of 2025, highlighting increased confidence in the prediction markets sector amid its rapid growth.

To put things into perspective, Kalshi’s valuation was approximately $2 billion less than a year ago. Since then, the company raised money via several funding rounds, rapidly increasing its valuation.

As a result, Kalshi’s valuation has now exceeded that of all of America’s sports betting companies, including that of forerunners such as FanDuel and DraftKings.

Prediction Markets Under Fire in the US

In the meantime, Kalshi and the prediction markets sector in general continue to face regulatory headwinds across the US. While prediction markets companies claim that their products offer trading in the form of event contracts rather than sports betting, traditional sportsbooks, regulators, and tribal authorities remain unconvinced.

To top it all off, prediction markets’ CFTC licenses allow them to operate in all 50 states, whereas sports betting operators need to navigate a complex regulatory framework.

As a result, Kalshi has been facing continuous pressure and legal challenges.

Arizona is one of the latest jurisdictions to take action against Kalshi, as Attorney General Kris Mayes announced that her office has filed 20 misdemeanor counts against the business.
