It’s Official: Super Bowl Will Return to Las Vegas in 2029

The National Football League has decided to award the 2029 Super Bowl to Las Vegas, marking the second time the city will host the event after its successful debut in 2024

The Super Bowl will be hosted by Las Vegas in 2029, as Allegiant Stadium has been chosen to host the game for the second time since 2024.

It’s Confirmed

NFL owners approved the highly anticipated decision during a meeting in Phoenix, confirming what many had expected.

That first Las Vegas-hosted Super Bowl game saw Kansas City defeat San Francisco 25-22 in overtime, leaving a strong impression on league officials.

For years, however, the NFL kept avoiding Las Vegas, mostly because of concerns around legalized sports betting. However, attitudes have shifted as the city has gradually grown into a major sports hub.

“We’re Excited to Bring the Super Bowl Back to Las Vegas”

Commissioner Roger Goodell welcomed the decision, pointing to the city’s ability to deliver large-scale events.

“We’re excited to bring the Super Bowl back to Las Vegas and provide our fans another incredible experience in one of America’s greatest sports and entertainment destinations,” he said.

Goodwill also highlighted the impact of the previous event. “Super Bowl LVIII demonstrated the scale, energy, and hospitality the city brings to global events, and we look forward to working alongside the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the Raiders, and the community to deliver an even greater experience this time around.”

The NFL’s schedule for upcoming Super Bowls is already set, with California hosting again next year in Inglewood, followed by Atlanta in 2028. Las Vegas will then take its turn in 2029.

“A Testament” to the Riders, the NFL, and the Community

Raiders owner Mark Davis credited years of planning and collaboration for bringing the game back. “It’s a testament to the Raiders, the LVCVA, civic leaders, the community, and the NFL working together as one,” he said.

“Super Bowl LVIII set a high bar, and for Super Bowl LXIII we are committed to raising it even further.”

Las Vegas has built a reputation as a reliable host for major sporting events. Since the Raiders moved there in 2020, the city has also hosted the 2022 NFL Draft and is set to stage several other high-profile events in the coming years, including the College Football Playoff national championship and the Final Four.

NFL executive Peter O’Reilly said the success of the first Super Bowl in Las Vegas made the decision straightforward. “Clearly, Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas was a tremendous success,” he said.

“Every element of that, everything that Las Vegas brought to bear, the energy, the size, the scale, the hospitality. That’s why Las Vegas is the host of so many premier sports and entertainment events,” added O’Reilly.
