Illinois Lucky Devil Bags $800,000 Lottery Payday
The local lottery has produced another big winner, as its many games continue to dominate the local landscape and award significant prizes
An Illinois iLottery player has much to share with his friends and family after the anonymous person won $800,000, bagging the Lucky Day Lotto jackpot this past weekend. The winning numbers 15-22-28-36-38 were won by the person who had played online on Sunday, June 22.
One Person Bags the Top Prize worth $800K
Overall, there were 17,500 winning tickets sold that day, with the Lucky Day Lotto game, however, crowning a single big winner. Purchased through the lottery app, the reward was immediately registered under the player’s name.
The Lottery has not released further details about the winner, but it has used the opportunity to highlight the effectiveness of the digital lottery that has allowed it to boost its sales, bring in higher tax revenue, and, similarly, make even more players winners!
The last big jackpot by the Illinois Lottery was announced at the beginning of June, when a person nicknamed King of the Castle, posed for a photo-op with an outsized check showing his full amount won – $1,348,768.
King of the Castle has similarly used the Illinois iLottery app to purchase a ticket, highlighting the efficiency and accessibility of the solution.
While lottery apps have stirred concern in places such as Texas, Illinois is bucking the trend by using its own lottery app instead of outsourcing the matter to third parties such as courier services.
Notably, a woman was denied a $83.5 million jackpot payout in the Lone Star State because her ticket had been purchased through a courier service.
The upshot of adopting a proprietary digital lottery app has been a thriving lottery industry that has turned many unsuspecting lottery players, both frequent and casual, into big winners!
