Hundreds of Kilograms of Drugs Off LA Streets Thanks to Operation Coast to Coast

Several Law Enforcement agencies have cooperated in several operations that have sent many criminals to jail and confiscated large amounts of drugs

In Los Angeles, several law enforcement and federal authorities conducted operations that ended with over 130 people detained and several hundred kilograms of illegal narcotics seized.

These agencies carried out a total of 36 operations while working together.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, these resulted in the “seizure of a massive amount of drugs”. This information was released by the FBI earlier this week.

This collective of agencies is made up of the FBI, the LAPD, as well as the Sheriff’s Departments of LA County and San Bernard.

Casitas and illegal gambling dens were raided all over the LA area during Operation Coast to Coast.

The FBI has shared that in December, it was able to increase the resources for the operation.

Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) is the one spearheading the initiative for this.

This was made possible due to an executive order by President Trump, aimed at taking down “criminal cartels, foreign gangs, transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and human smuggling and trafficking rings operating in the United States and abroad”.

The Results

From the operation in LA came 223 arrests, followed by 92 criminal complaints. Eight search warrants were executed, one of which was in Mexico.

These Casita locations were used to sell drugs, traffic guns illegally, and offer prostitutes.

Two such places that were searched are located in Montclair and San Bernardino, where the majority of the people detained are believed to have been from.

The ludicrous amount of drugs seized consists of 102 kilograms of fentanyl, 470 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 1.5 kilograms of cocaine.

Along with the drugs, 29 firearms were also seized.

Monetarily, the FBI has shared that at least $3,000 was found, all in cash.

Additional Arrests

People thought to be members of gangs were also arrested in Long Beach for tracking drugs as well as firearms-related crimes.

The gangs they are thought to be members of are Florencia-13, Tortilla Flags, and East Side Longos.

The FBI additionally shared that someone had been arrested for distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
