Guadalajara Chivas Seen as Narrow Favorites

In 2025, Guadalajara Chivas look very dangerous on offense. Twenty-one-year-old American forward Cade Cowell seems to be in the best form of his life right now, and the same goes for his one-year older Mexican colleague, Armando Gonzalez.

Still, those guys are nowhere near as valuable as wingers Roberto Alvarado and Efrain Alvarez. Nevertheless, this only shows the depth the Mexicans have in their squad, particularly among offensive players.

Their defense, on the other hand, isn’t that great. They do have a safe option between the posts as goalie Raul Rangel is one of the best shot-stoppers in the league. However, their style of play is such that their opponents almost always get to take at least a couple of shots on Range’s goal. 

In their most recent game – against Atletico San Luis in Liga MX – the opposition took eight shots at goal, three of which Rangel couldn’t save.

New York Red Bulls are a Force to Be Reckoned With in 2025

It’s been years since the NY Red Bulls had such a good squad. They have several players who arrived in the MLS after a successful career across the Atlantic.

Emil Forsberg, who’s their captain, for example, spent a decade with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. Another forward, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, played for Bayern Munich before joining the Red Bulls.

Then, there’s Lewis Morgan, their most expensive player, who played for Scottish powerhouse Celtic before coming to America. 

What’s interesting is that all of those guys are forwards. The Red Bulls’ defense, however, isn’t that impressive. This explains why they conceded 12 goals in their last five games.

We think both teams are excellent attacking-wise, which is why “Over 3.5 Goals” looks certain. But who will score more goals? We think neither team. Instead, our prediction is that this is going to be a high-scoring draw, possibly 2:2 or even 3:3.
