Georgia’s Self-Exclusion List Hits 30,000 Registrants
The national self-exclusion program has proven to be an efficient way of shielding people from more serious gambling-related harm

Georgia continues to tackle gambling-related harm by leaning in more heavily into promoting its national self-exclusion registry, administered by the state’s Revenue Service.
Presently, the country’s self-exclusion list numbers more than 30,000 individuals, with 30,451 people signed up and another 4,000 joining since early May. Out of the total number of people who have used the self-exclusion program, 30,392 have excluded on their own, with 59 being added onto the list by a court order.
The list has also been expanding, not necessarily because of a surge in gambling activity or irresponsible gambling, but because there has been a focus on making the self-exclusion registry more available and easier to onboard with.
“The system offers a confidential and secure way for individuals to protect themselves from gambling addiction,” the agency said. Anyone who has been added to the list is not going to be allowed to gamble in the country and on any of the regulated platforms.
However, an issue of people registering and playing with unregulated websites continues, as the country is still trying to tackle its illegal gambling market.
