Four Fantasy 5 players in California have simultaneously matched all winning numbers, effectively scoring the jackpot. As a result, each of the four lucky lottery enthusiasts has been awarded a share of the jackpot.
Four Players Shared the April 1 Jackpot
While April 1 is best known for being April Fool’s Day, a custom where people tell jokes and try to trick one another, the Fantasy 5 jackpot win was no joke or trick. According to the CA Lottery’s announcement, four players succeeded in matching all five winning numbers to win a share of the $570K jackpot.
For context, the winning numbers for that drawing were 7, 12, 16, 20, and 32.
As a result of the fact that there were four winners, each of them will get a $144,278 share. In addition to the four big winners, 403 players matched 4 out of the 5 numbers to win $383 each. In total, there were 152,360 winning tickets.
Further reports revealed that two of the winning tickets were sold at Garden Liquor Store at 1479 W. Washington Boulevard in Los Angeles. Another one was sold at Continental Liquor & Market at 9114 Balboa Boulevard in Northridge. The final winning ticket landed in Sun City Market & Spirits at 1510 Del Webb Boulevard in Lincoln.
Another Fantasy 5 Jackpot Landed the Next day
A day later, two other players matched all five numbers to win the jackpot from the next Fantasy 5 drawing. As a result, each of them got a $38,889 cut. In addition to that, 98 players matched 4 of 5 numbers to win $427 each.
The winning numbers for the April 2 drawing were 7, 21, 25, 31, and 37. There were a total of 43,969 winning tickets.
