Florida Lottery Unveils Three Winners of $1M Prizes

The lucky winners were identified as players from Winter Park, Thonotosassa, and LaBelle

The Florida Lottery revealed its biggest winners for December, reporting that three players won prizes of $1 million. All of the prizes came from the lottery’s scratch-off tickets, the release stated.

Winter Park Winner Scooped Up $1M

On April 3, the Florida Lottery revealed that three players won seven-figure prizes from its scratch-off games. The first of these prizes was claimed on December 8 by Jatin Kaushik, 26, of Winter Park.

Kaushik won $1 million from the lottery’s $25,000,000 Gold Rush Multiplier scratch-off game. The winning ticket was sold at Charge Up 69, located at 7235 University Boulevard in Winter Park. The lucky player visited the Florida Lottery’s Orlando District Office to claim his money, opting to receive the winnings as a one-time payment of $638,100.

The Florida Lottery added that, at launch, the $25,000,000 Gold Rush Multiplier game featured two top prizes of $25 million, as well as 60 prizes of 1 million. As of the time of this writing, one of the top prizes and 30 of the second-tier prizes remain. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 4.09.

Thonotosassa Winner Turned 500X The Cash Ticket into $1M

The second winner was Wendell Jackson, 53, of Thonotosassa. Jackson also won $1 million, although his prize came from the 500X The Cash scratch-off game. Jackson visited the Lottery HQ in Tallahassee on December 19 and chose to receive his prize as a one-time, lump sum of $640,000.

The lottery revealed additional details about the win, saying that the winning ticket was sold at 301 Petrol Mart, located at 11511 U.S. Highway 301 N. in Thonotosassa.

At launch, the $50 500X The Cash scratch-off game featured two top prizes of $25 million, as well as 28 second-tier prizes of $1 million. As of the time of this writing, both top prizes survive and only three of the $1 million prizes have been claimed.

The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 4.23.

LaBelle Man Won $1M from Bonus Letter Crossword

The final $1 million prize for December was claimed by Antonio Garcia Avila, 60, of LaBelle, who won it from the Bonus Letter Crossword scratch-off game. The winner visited the lottery HQ on December 29 and, just like the other players, chose the lump sum option. As a result, he took home some $640,000.

According to the Florida Lottery, Garcia Avila bought the winning ticket from Patson Discount Tobacco and Smoke Shop, located at 216 S. Main Street in LaBelle.

According to the Florida Lottery, the Bonus Letter Crossword game featured 10 prizes of $1 million at launch. Now, only one of these remains unclaimed.

The overall odds of winning any prize from that game are 1 in 4.
