Leading betting brand FanDuel has onboarded veteran marketer Ari Avishay as its new senior vice president of marketing. The new appointee is a former Paramount+ member and boasts significant experience in promoting products to a global audience.

Avishay joins FanDuel, bringing what company executives called a “proven track record” of driving growth via effective marketing. As mentioned, he is a seasoned marketer with years of experience in the marketing sector.
Prior to joining the sports betting brand, Avishay served as SVP of content marketing for Paramount+. During his time with that company, he led brand, content, social, and partner marketing across dozens of international markets.
Before his time at Paramount, Avishay served at Hulu and was responsible for promoting several high-profile productions.
As SVP of marketing at FanDuel, Avishay will be tasked with overseeing the company’s brand strategy and the promotion of its FanDuel Sportsbook, FanDuel TV, and Stardust Casino divisions. In addition to that, his purview will include promoting a variety of products and channeling more customers toward the company.

In his position, Avishay will report directly to FanDuel’s president of sports, Mike Raffensperger. The latter commented on the appointment, expressing excitement about welcoming Avishay to the team. Raffensperger lauded the appointee’s “proven track record” of driving brand awareness, cultural relevance, and meaningful growth, saying that this kind of experience will be invaluable to FanDuel.

FanDuel CEO Says Prediction Markets Are Not a Threat
In other news, FanDuel’s chief executive officer, Amy Howe, just said that she doesn’t believe that prediction markets are a direct competitor of traditional sportsbooks.
In an interview with CNBC, Howe argued that the nature of prediction markets is less diverse than that of sportsbooks and asserted that they are more similar to daily fantasy sports than to sports betting.
