March Madness Odds Favor Duke
Experts and oddsmakers favor Duke to win this game relatively. Betting lines have opened with Duke as a 6.5-point favorite over Alabama.
It’s a big margin, suggesting that the Blue Devils are going to have a sort of easy job on Saturday evening. If you’re wondering why oddsmakers think so, there are several reasons.
First of all, Duke has plenty of weapons in the offensive department, with multiple scoring threats. Still, their No. 1 most dangerous player is freshman Cooper Flagg.

This guy’s been nothing short of sensational, averaging over 18.9 points in the tournament, along with 7.5 rebounds. He’s been so good that many are projecting him as the No. 1 NBA draft pick.
Flagg has also been great defensively, along with his more experienced teammates, Tyrese Proctor and Jeremy Roach. Thanks to their output, Duke’s defensive average in the 2025 March Madness is just 62.51 points allowed per game.
What to Expect from Alabama’s Offense in Elite Eight?
Alabama’s offense has been excellent in 2025, highlighted by a record-setting 25 three-pointers in their 113-88 win against BYU. It was Mark Sears who contributed the most in that game, scoring 34 points and making 8 assists.

Sears has been their standout player, averaging 19.0 points per game, but he’s not the only one. Grant Nelson has also been playing terrific basketball and so has freshman Labaron Philon.
The Crimson Tide are averaging 91.39 points per game, which makes them the best offense in the NCAAB tournament. They’re not as great defensively with 81.17 points conceded per game. However, they’re doing well in the air – they’re first in the nation when it comes to rebounds.
Duke vs. Alabama Prediction
Overall, Duke is the better team, but Alabama’s players have shown they can outscore almost any opponent.
If they continue with their 3-point brilliance, we could see them giving real war to the Blue Devils on Saturday evening. They might not win, but they can make this Elite Eight matchup a closely contested battle.
Pick: Alabama +6.5
