DraftKings Pulls Nearly $100K+ in Wins, Mistakes Made in the Available Selections
The DraftKings Pick6 game was meant to excite and get people involved in the betting contest - it has ended up a bitter disappointment instead
Oops, we regret to inform you that your $100,000 in winnings have been down due to an error. This is the message DraftKings probably should have shared with its customers before disappearing their winnings.
Pick6, which is a fantasy-style game by one of America’s leading sportsbooks, has been a veritable hit with bettors of all backgrounds.
Apparently, though, DraftKings made available some selections that it should not have, resulting in mass confusion when about $100,000 in winnings disappeared from at least one account.
As most such stories transpire, this one, too, was highlighted in a social media post. Apparently, one user, ChimmyBimmy, as per their X handle, owed about $80,000 worth of bets after previously cashing out $18,500.
DraftKings supposedly rescinded the payout and cancelled it, freezing the user account. ChimmyBimmy was naturally not happy, as he vented on social media ALL-CAPS, about the injustice that had been visited upon him.
DRAFTKINGS TOOK $100,000 FROM MY ACCOUNT:

Last night, DraftKings went ahead and paid me out $18,500 in winning bets, along with $80,000 in pending bets on Pick-6.

In frustration, he said: “Upon withdrawing a portion of the 18.5k, DraftKings froze my account, rescinded the payouts, and cancelled my withdrawal. Upon rescinding the money, they unlocked my account with no communication or explanation. As the Pick-6 Sets were still pending, I gave the benefit of the doubt and assumed it would be repaid.”
He also added that he had not heard back from DraftKings regarding the incident. Another user chimed in, arguing that they too experienced the same issue, only the amount was much smaller.
However, DraftKings did respond later to the accidents, arguing that some of the picks that should have been taken down remained on the platform, leading to the selections being made when they should have been unavailable.
“This led to temporary payout adjustments for impacted entries. Any unrelated payouts have been manually re-credited, and all valid picks have been paid in full,” the platform posted on social media.
