DraftKings Launches Historical Betting Product DK Replay in Oregon

American sports betting powerhouse DraftKings unveiled a new product called DK Replay. The product will be initially available in Oregon and will leverage the excitement of historical betting markets for Major League Baseball.

DK Replay Launches in Oregon

DraftKings launched DK Replay in Oregon yesterday, providing a new way for MLB fans to experience betting. The product allows eligible customers to bet pitch-by-pitch on hundreds of thousands of historical plate appearances.

DK Replay’s launch was greenlit by the Oregon Lottery and can be accessed through the latest version of the DraftKings Sportsbook app.

DraftKings explained that DK Replay allows users to wager on “anonymized MLB plate appearances from the last several seasons.” After launching the offering, users will be presented with an anonymized pitcher versus batter matchup. The athletes will be rated either bronze, silver, or gold, based on key stats from the original game, allowing participants to analyze the matchup.

Players will be presented with the opportunity to place a wager on whether the next pitch will be a ball, strike, or in-play. After that, the outcome will be revealed and the bet will be graded. After the player wraps up the full plate appearance or does not bet due to the pitch clock reaching zero, the full details of the matchup, including the names of the athletes and information about the original game, will be revealed.

A New Way to Experience Betting

At first, DK Replay will only be available to players in Oregon. However, the company said in its release that it is exploring options to launch it in other markets, too.

Corey Gottlieb, DraftKings’ chief product officer, commented on the launch, saying that it will provide MLB fans with a new experience.
