The Monday Powerball drawing was even more eventful since a separate player in Texas won a $2 million Match 5 prize from the game after correctly matching all numbers except the Powerball

Delaware Player Wins $231M, Texan Grabs $2M
A little over a month after the previous Powerball jackpot landed, the stars have aligned again, granting another lucky player a life-changing windfall. This time, the jackpot was won by a ticket holder in Delaware, who succeeded in matching all six winning numbers.
For reference, the winning numbers for the April 6 drawing were 7, 24, 37, 42, and 57, plus the red Powerball 5. Thanks to nailing all of them, the Delaware player will take either the full sum as an annuity option or the one-time lump-sum payment of $104.3 million. While most players as a whole go with the lump sum, it has yet to be seen what decision the Delaware winner makes when they come forward to claim their winnings.
The Monday Powerball drawing was even more eventful since a separate player in Texas won a $2 million Match 5 prize from the game after correctly matching all numbers except the Powerball. While the prize reserved for such players is usually $1 million, the lucky Texan secured themselves $2 million instead, thanks to the Power Play feature.
Additionally, 13 players matched four white numbers plus the Powerball to win the game’s third-tier prize. Eight of these players will take home $50,000 each, while the remaining five will take home $100,000 each due to Power Play.
The jackpot has since been reset to $20 million (cash option of $9.1 million) for the next drawing, which will take place tomorrow.

Just a few months earlier, another player in Arkansas won the Powerball jackpot. That win came on Christmas Eve, ensuring that the lucky player woke up to find a jaw-dropping $1.8 billion prize under the Christmas tree.
