Deadwood Gaming Association Names George Milos as Executive Director
DGA’s president welcomed Milos on board, praising his passion and profound love for the local gaming and tourism industries
The Deadwood Gaming Association (DGA), an organization representing the interests of South Dakota’s commercial gambling operators, has reinforced its leadership with the addition of George Milos as executive director.
In his new position, Milos is set to replace the outgoing Mike Rodman. In addition to serving as DGA’s new executive director, the new appointee will also be named director of Business Improvement District 8.
BID 8, for context, is an agency that is dedicated to leveraging hotel occupancy tax money to promote tourism in Deadwood.
Before joining DGA as its new executive director, Milos served as Deadwood Mountain Grand’s director of events. Before that, he spent a 13-year tenure at the Deadwood Chamber & Visitors Bureau. Seven of those years were spent as a director, highlighting the hire’s experience in such positions of responsibility.
As executive director, Milos will be tasked with maintaining Deadwood’s momentum. Last year, the local gaming industry recorded an 18% increase in revenue. Sports betting handle, on the other hand, was up 50% year-on-year, highlighting a significant increase in demand.
Milos Is Looking Forward to Working with the Industry
Caleb Arceneaux, DGA’s president, welcomed Milos on board, praising his passion and profound love for the local gaming and tourism industries. Arceneaux added that the new appointee’s expertise is sure to reinforce DGA and BID 8’s efforts.

Milos also commented on his new appointment. The new executive director said that he is “incredibly excited and humbled” to represent the gaming industry which provides hundreds of people with good-paying jobs. Milos also pointed out that gambling has been a part of “Deadwood’s fabric” since the 1800s and is a key part of the city.

Speaking of Deadwood, a year ago, Hard Rock International, the gaming brand of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, unveiled its plans for a new casino in the city.
