Conor McGregor Self-Invites to Hyped White House UFC 2026
The Irish firebrand boxer-slash-UFC-fighter has suggested that he would be willing to throw down at the White House’s front lawn during a still-unconfirmed UFC fight due to take place in 2026

Conor McGregor’s flair for creating a buzz around himself is not lost on social media users and the media in general. The UFC fighter took to social media to suggest that he would be very happy to attend President Donald Trump’s unconfirmed UFC fight that could take place on July 4, 2026, celebrating America’s 250th birthday.
POTUS effused about his idea, which appeared to pop randomly into his head, during a recent UFC event held in New Jersey.
Conor McGregor Is All For Brawling at the White House’s Lawn
“We’re gonna have a UFC fight, think of this, on the grounds of the White House,” Trump said. “We have a lot of land there. We’re not going to build a little, we’re not, Dana. is going to do it, a UFC fight, a championship fight, a full fight. We‘re going to have some incredible events, some professional events, some amateur events, but the UFC fight is going to be a big deal.”
McGregor’s statement was no less confusing than that of POTUS. The fighter said that when he took to the octagon at the White House, he would have been the ruling President of his country for just under one year.
McGregor’s post alluded to his presidential bid in Ireland, an idea that politicians have rejected as absolutely bonkers, not least because McGregor is accused of rape.
“July 4th next year is a Saturday, regarding President Trump’s UFC White House event. I will be the reigning President of Ireland for just under 1 year when I step out on the lawns of the White House to throw down. Epic proportions! Or as I like to call it, Tuesday at the office. Vote McGregor,” the fighter’s X post read.
But even if McGregor was allowed back in, would he be able to put on a decent fight? He hasn’t fought in four years and spectacularly since the TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in July 2021. However, part of the UFC is about theatrics, and McGregor knows this game inside and out.
McGregor, The President, to Fight in the UFC
He is also the sort of chummy fighter that President Trump could potentially relate to. From a gambling industry standpoint, McGregor could be a gold mine, as his controversial personality will most likely draw serious betting handles and attention from fans.
However, much can happen between now and then. Dana White and Donald Trump make for strange friends but the two have seen eye to eye, mostly because White does not seem to be trying to influence the President, unlike Elon Musk, who has fallen out with POTUS.
With a UFC fight on the cards at the White House, some Internet users have compared what is happening today to the events of the fictional movie Idiocracy.
