Aston Villa vs. Manchester City 2024-25 Premier League Odds, Time, and Prediction
Aston Villa vs. Manchester City is one of the most exciting English Premier League games on the program on Saturday, December 21, 2024. The match is played at Villa Park in Birmingham, where the Villans are without a loss in the Prem since August

Manchester City need to pull themselves together ASAP if they want to stay in contention for the Premier League title. Their form is horrible, but the good news is that some easier fixtures are on their way. But not before this weekend’s game with Aston Villa, who are just one point behind them in the EPL standings.

Aston Villa are Incredible on Home Turf
Aston Villa are 7-4-5 overall, but at home, their record is 4-3-1. They’re without a loss at Villa Park since August, with two wins in their last two home games.
This sounds good, but the Villans haven’t been too impressive lately. In their most recent game in Birmingham, they beat desperate Southampton just 1:0. In their most recent away game – played last weekend – they lost 2:1 to Nottingham Forest on the road.

These guys have conceded 25 goals in total so far, which makes their defense the 7th worst in the league. This is kind of surprising given that they have Emiliano Martinez behind the posts, the goalkeeper who won the Yashin Trophy – the best goalie award – in the last two years.
It’s High Time for Manchester City to Start Playing Better
Manchester City are in horrible form, the worst in the Pep Guardiola era. They lost 8 of their last 11 games in all competitions. In the Premier League, they lost 5 of their last 7 games.
The result is that they’re now trailing behind EPL table leaders Liverpool by 9 points. And the Reds have played one game fewer than them. Not winning on Saturday could mean the end of their EPL dream.
Their poor form started after their holding midfielder, Rodri, got injured. It’s likely that the Cityzens will try to bring in a replacement for him over the winter transfer window, but until then, they’re stuck with Ilkay Gundogan, Mateo Kovacic, and Kevin De Bruyne as the midfield trio.
These guys are fantastic players, which is why it’s really surprising that they haven’t been dominating their opponents. But maybe they just needed some time to click together? Well, that time’s already passed – they have no excuses anymore to play this badly.
Aston Villa vs. Manchester City Prediction
Our prediction is that Manchester City’s players will dominate possession, but they’ll probably struggle to score with Martinez protecting Aston Villa’s net. That’s why our top pick is that the Aston Villa vs. Manchester City game won’t see too many goals.
We do, however, think we’ll see a goal on Saturday. Who’s going to score the goal? We think it’s going to be one of Man City’s players.
